**** NEW 2012 REFUND POLICY ****

HMF has a new refund policy for 2012. In short, we have extended the time allowed to request a refund by 15 days and deferments will no longer be issued.

We realize that some customers may be disappointed with the elimination of deferments. (We will continue to honor all deferments earned in 2011.) However, deferments were an administrative burden and the vast majority of issued deferments were never redeemed. We believe that more HMF customers will be better compensated by our newer, more expansive refund policy. We feel that our revised 2012 refund policy is extremely generous particularly in light of the fact that our competitor race organizations do NOT offer any refunds or deferments. Please see new policy details below:

REFUNDS

30 Days or More prior to Race:

  • Refund, minus $15.00 service fee.

Less than 30 Days prior to Race:

  • No Refund. No Deferment.

RACE TRANSFERS

If you are registered for a race which has multiple events (i.e. Iron Horse, Old Wethersfield) you may switch to a different event right up until race day provided that the event you are switching into has not reached its Entry Limits. You will need to pay any additional registration fees necessary to "switch up" to a longer, more expensive event (i.e. from a 5K to a 10K). If you switch down to a shorter, less expensive event you will not be refunded any monies. Please send an email to: registration@hartfordmarathon.com to request an event switch. If space is available you may switch events in person at Packet Pickup for the race.

Bib numbers may NOT be transferred to another person.

MARATHON POLICY - REGISTRATION CHANGES

REFUNDS 

September 13 , 2012 is the cutoff date to request a refund for an event in the 2012 ING Hartford Marathon. All refunds will be subject to a $15 service fee.

RACE TRANSFERS 

You may switch to a different event in the 2012 ING Hartford Marathon right up until race day provided that the event you are switching into has not reached its Entry Limits. You will need to pay any additional fees necessary to "switch up" to a longer, more expensive event (i.e. from the 5K to Half Marathon). If you" switch down" to a shorter, less expensive event you will not be refunded any monies. Please send an email to: registration@hartfordmarathon.com to request an event switch. After September 30, 2012 any event switches must be made in person at Packet Pickup at the Solutions/Changes Table.

Bib numbers may NOT be transferred to another person.

STEPS TO REQUEST A REFUND

Your request for a refund must include the following information:

  1. Your full name
  2. Name of the race entered
  3. Reason for refund
  4. Daytime phone number (in case clarification is needed)
  5. Email address
  6. Mail address

Requests must be sent by email to registration@hartfordmarathon.com. Please allow 3 weeks for your request to be processed.

STEPS TO REDEEM A DEFERMENT EARNED IN 2011
  1. Please complete a paper event entry form (click here to download form)
  2. Attach a copy of the email confirming your deferment
  3. Calculate the entry fee due (current entry fee less deferment amount) and include a check or credit card number for any difference due to HMF
  4. Mail the application form, confirming email and any payment to:

DISCOUNT POLICY

Only one discount code may be used for an entry.
