3-mile run with Jeff Galloway along the streets of Middletown and past Jeff's alma mater, Wesleyan University. Free, all ages and abilities welcome. Start and finish in front of the Inn at Middletown, 70 Main Street, Middletown. Parking is available on Main Street.

9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Jeff's Running School. This highly motivating class taught by Jeff Galloway will share information to help you reach your goals, whether to run injury free, lose weight or stay motivated. The format allows each person to ask individual questions and get direct information about how to improve. Jeff's energizing advice is based on feedback from over 300,000 runners who successfully use the Galloway method, he addresses needs of all levels, beginner to Boston Qualifier. Our pace teams are here to support you in achieving your finish goal at the Harvard Pilgrim Middletown Half! The Pace Team is available to you, free of charge. Click here for detailed information regarding pace teams.

A pace team is a group of runners led by an experienced long distance runner known as the pace group leader. The pace group leader will coach the pace team runners to their set time goal. The leader will run a steady pace throughout the race that keeps runners on track of their half marathon goal time. Click here to meet the your pace leaders.

On race day it’s easy to find your pace leader. All pace leaders are located in the start staging area before the race start and will be holding their respective pace sign. Pace leaders will be wearing a highly visible race singlet.

Pace Leaders will be available for 1:45, 2:00, 2:15, 2:30, 2:45, 3:00.


The Hartford Marathon Foundation has an emergency texting service in place to be used in situations such as event cancellations or other emergencies where information needs to be delivered directly to you. We will be using this system for this event.

If we have changes to a race at the last minute, we can text you and inform you of the issue and what the plan is for the day of the race, and potentially save you time, money and sleep.

NOTE: We never use this information for anything other than real emergencies.

This event is timed by Bay State Race Services and uses the B-Tag timing system (timing chip is attached to the back of your race bib). Please wear your race bib on the front of your shirt. 


Awards to both male and female as follows:
  • Top 5 Overall: Prize Money of $250, $150, $100, $75, $50

Merchandise Award to:
  • Top 3 in Age Group (12-14 and 5-year groups from 15 – 80+)
  • Top 3 in Clydesdale/Athena
  • Top Finisher: Wheelchair

$50 Gift Card to Mondo Pizza to:
  • First Male/Female Finisher: Resident of Middlesex County

Prize money awarded on gun time. All others awarded on chip time. No “double dipping.”
