Family Fit Training
6:30-7:30 P.M. Monday nights at Glastonbury High School Track 6/25, 7/2, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30
$10 per child, $15 for 18+ or $25 per family
Finally, a running and fitness program the whole family can do together! This unique program incorporates exercises, walk/run track workouts and good old basic calisthenics. Our coaches will teach good running form while building endurance and strength during each hour session. Adults can join in with the youth group or participate in walk or run workouts on the track. The youth will be grouped according to age in a fun and friendly environment. We'll make this so fun that you will not realize how much exercise you’re getting! All abilities welcome!
The goal of our training will be to run or walk the Living Well 5K that the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce is hosting on 8/4 at 8:00 A.M. The race is a local favorite due to its flat and fast route through the Addison Road neighborhood.
Here’s a link to register for their event: http://www.glastonburychamber.net/CWT/External/WCPages/WCEvents/EventDetail.aspx?EventID=925
The Hartford Marathon Foundation has partnered with The Run SMART Project. Every participant now has the opportunity to follow a customized training plan designed by Dr. Jack Daniels, named “World’s Greatest Coach” by Runner’s World. Schedules are designed to help runners of all levels properly prepare for their goal race. Click here for more details.
8 week sessions offered throughout the year
$50 each (Price includes entry to HMF 5K – a $25 value!) except where noted.
Lose weight, reduce stress, and get fit! Our beginner-intermediate programs are designed for people who are brand new or returning to running after a hiatus. For beginners, you will start by walking 3 minutes, running 1 minute. By the end of the 8 weeks, we will have you running for at least 30 minutes. The groups will cover distances from 3-6 miles, depending upon ability. No experience necessary! Come out, socialize and have fun while getting in shape.
