$25 per family or $15 for an individual

The whole family can participate in our unique fitness and running training group. Each session includes a warm up, running instruction, running (!) or walk/running for newbies, basic exercises and a cool down. Build endurance and strength while learning the fundamentals of running in a fun and friendly environment. For more advanced runners, this is a great opportunity to get some speed work in while the kids play games, run relays and are entertained by our coaches. All abilities are welcome!

For those who need a goal race to keep them training,  The Rentchler Airfield 5K on Thursday, 7/11 at 6PM would be a great goal for the whole family. (Please register separately for the race.)

HMF Trail Running Group New!

Meets on Sundays, 8:00 a.m.
$40 yearly membership.  Enrollment is always open.

Think all running is the same? Think again. Running in the woods provides less impact on your body and is slower paced than road running and there’s no traffic! Our goal is to have a low-key, fun and social group. After a few coach led runs, it’s our hope that the group will meet on its own, with support from HMF. We encourage members to host a run or two. Some running experience is needed.

*Indicates clinic dates. These are free to members of HMF Trail Runners or $15 each for non-members. Led by experienced trail running coaches. Learn about techniques and form - including uphill, downhill & mud running, gear, etiquette, safety and basic first aid.

Membership includes:

Lose weight, reduce stress, and get fit! Our beginner-intermediate programs are designed for people who are brand new or returning to running after a hiatus. For beginners, you will start by walking 3 minutes, running 1 minute. By the end of the 8 weeks, we will have you running for at least 30 minutes. No experience necessary! Our average coach to runner ratio is 1:7.

If you’re looking for something more than a 5K to challenge yourself, but not ready to run a half, this is the program for you. Come develop endurance, strength and speed while gradually increasing your weekly mileage. You should currently be running at least 2-3 times per week and have completed a 5K race.

Half Marathon heading

This is our most popular training group!

Perfect for those who have obtained an introduction to road running, have done an occasional 5K or 10K and want to use the Half program as the next step up. We group runners according to their anticipated finish times as follows: Under 2 hours, 2-2:15, 2:15-2:30 and 2:30 and up with a leader for each group.

Marathon heading

So, you have made the commitment to complete a marathon. We will help you succeed! If you're a beginner who can give us your attention over the next 16 weeks, we'll get you to the finish line. If you're an experienced marathoner looking to give 26.2 miles your best effort--maybe qualify for Boston--we can help. Also includes some Tuesday night Fun Run races. We have pace coaches for the following projected finish times: 3:15, 3:24, 3:39, 3:59, 4:21, 4:46+.  

Once again, we are partnering with Fleet Feet of West Hartford! That means you’ll have the choice of running your long run on Saturday in Glastonbury or Sunday with Fleet Feet, West Hartford. In addition, you can join the following weekday runs at Fleet Feet:

  • Monday & Wednesday Mornings – 6:00am
  • Wednesday Evenings – 6:30pm 
  • Thursday Evening Track Workout @ Saint Joseph College Track – 6:30pm
