Downtown Hartford 5K course,
great volunteer support, and a spectacular finish inside the State Armory.
This event is open to runners and walkers of all ages.
Plus, special military divisions for Army, Air, Marines, Navy and Coast Guard and a Fun Run for Kids.
Come catch the spirit with the pageantry that will also be part of this special day.
All proceeds benefit the Connecticut National Guard Foundation, Inc.

DEADLINE FOR FREEDOM RUN/WALK - Print, complete and mail or fax according to instructions on the form. Payment may be made by credit card or check (made payable to HMF). Paper copies must by postmarked or faxed by - Saturday, November 1, 2008.

Parking is free and located across the street from the Armory in the open lot at the corner of Broad Street and Capitol Avenue. Prerace registration and packet pickup is located inside the State Armory entrance on Broad Street (across from the Hartford Courant).

* Fun Run for Kids
The Freedom Run is a family event. Little Guards (children under 12) can register on Race Day for $5. All Little Guards receive a t-shirt and finishers medal.
The Kids Fun Run will begin immediately following the 5K (approximately 9:45 a.m.) Several distances will be offered including 50 yds., 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile and 1-mile. Kids will be placed in appropriate distance group according to their age and ability. Kids race course is run completely on sidewalks behind the Armory and in Bushnell Park. Parents are requested to assist with the operation of the Kids event.

| Winning Time chip is worn on Velcro strap on the ankle and will be distributed at packet pick-up. Chip must be returned at the finish line. $30 fee for unreturned chip. |
