Welcome to the exciting new Stamford KIC IT Triathlon,
an Olympic distance staged completely in the city of Stamford.
This event, which benefits Kids in Crisis, is destined to become one of the country’s most exciting urban multisport events. With great restaurants, shopping and accommodations just steps from the finish line, the Stamford KIC IT Triathlon has something for both athletes and their families and makes a perfect weekend destination race.
The race is limited to 500 entries. Don’t miss out! Register today!
The SWIM begins and ends at Cummings Beach Park and is a .9 mile triangular course in Long Island Sound, sheltered by Shippan Point to the east and Cove Beach to the north.
The 24.8 mile BIKE is diverse, has gradual climbs, fast downhills and demands your attention. You will begin with a loop along the water through breathtaking Shippan Point, whiz through the corporate canyon of downtown Stamford amidst towering office buildings and then head into the beautiful wooded terrain of North Stamford. An exciting transition awaits you back in downtown Stamford at Columbus Park, in the heart of the restaurant district.
The 10K (6.2 mile) RUN is a 2-loop course through downtown Stamford.
Relay Teams: The Stamford KIC IT Triathlon can be entered as a relay team of 2-3 members; each completing 1 or 2 of the event legs. Team members register individually and team captains are responsible for insuring registrations are complete. Team members exchange the timing chip inside the transition area. A great way to share the competition with family or friends! Read registration details below.
The entire course was designed for great viewing. Spectators can grab a front row seat in Columbus Park to see the early stages of the bike, the excitement of transition #2 and the spectacular finishline. Postrace festivities include food, drink, awards, music and expo.

Are you looking to get fit while also helping those in need? Here is your opportunity.
Proceeds from this triathlon will benefit Kids in Crisis, the only agency in Connecticut providing comprehensive crisis care and prevention services for children of all ages. We anticipate 500 athletes and many more spectators for the triathlon and the exciting post-race street festival with music, refreshments and family entertainment.
Since 1978, Kids in Crisis has helped families and children from all walks of life and from all economic backgrounds to cope with abuse, homelessness, neglect and more. As the region’s only free, emergency crisis counseling and residential facility for infants, children and teens, Kids in Crisis gives each child comprehensive care. In addition to temporary emergency shelter, Kids in Crisis provides Fairfield County with several community outreach programs designed to help families before the crisis point. |
