Imagine having to choose between feeding your children and providing them with heat or electricity? 
 
Our newest 5K, Burn Calories for Fuel is  is a fundraiser for Operation Fuel,  a nonprofit organization that provides emergency energy assistance to families, the elderly and disabled Connecticut residents. The Burn 5K course is a great run! Long straight-aways and only four turns on quiet streets will make this a perennial favorite in no time. And the icing on the cake is the post race party catered by Wood-n-Tap!


For those Boston Marathon bound runners – we are waiving your entry fee!  That’s right – run for free if you are registered for the 2010 Boston Marathon. Consider this a reward for all your training.  If you are eligible, you will need to submit a paper application and a copy of your Boston Marathon entry acknowledgement.  Read more ....

DEADLINE FOR BURN CALORIES FOR FUEL 5K - Print, complete and mail or fax according to instructions on the form. Payment may be made by credit card or check (made payable to HMF). Paper copies must by postmarked or faxed by - Saturday, April 3, 2010.

Here is the formula to calculate the calories for a 5K:
 
Your weight X .66 X 3.1 miles*
 
For example, A 150 lb. person X .66 = 99 X 3.1 miles = 307 calories
 
*This is a simple formula anyone can use to calculate and track calories burned for distance.
