ING Run for Something Better
ING developed the Run for Something Better program to introduce kids to the benefits of running, a habit of physical fitness, and healthy lifestyle choices. In the U.S., childhood obesity is one of the most significant health concerns facing us today. Educating kids about the importance of living an active life is the cornerstone of the ING Run for Something Better program.

Team ING Run for Something Better supports team members as they improve their fitness and train for a half-marathon or marathon. Members of the team give back by fundraising to help ING provide youth running and school-based fitness education programs for kids locally. The team is raising money to support healthy lifestyle programs for kids from the Greater Hartford area as they train to participate in the ING Run for Something Better event on Friday, October 9, 2009.

Disclaimer: ING Run For Something Better does not refund the entry fee of each runner. As a reward for fundraising, the runner who raises at least $300 will receive a free virtual training plan, a cool orange technical tee and a pair of orange laces that show they are tied to supporting kids' fitness and fighting childhood obesity

For more information about the Team ING Run for Something Better fundraising rewards at the $300, $500 and $750 levels or to join the Team, please visit http://www.charity.active.com/ingrunforsomethingbetter

Support Jane Doe No More

2009 Official Charity
Jane Doe No More
is educating the public about sexual assault, and advocating for a society that gives victims and their families every chance for a full and healthy recovery.  Our goal is that through increased training and awareness, each person who interacts with the victim will be better prepared so that no further emotional harm is inflicted and the healing process is allowed to continue.
Founded in January 2007 by Connecticut resident Donna Palomba, a survivor of sexual assault, Jane Doe No More is having a lasting impact in Connecticut and across the country. In August 2007, Governor Jodi Rell signed into law a bill eliminating the statute of limitations on sexual assault crimes in which DNA evidence was involved.  Donna Palomba’s case was the impetus for the change in the law.  Donna’s inspirational story was featured in a Dateline NBC 2-hour special; click here to see a video clip.
