HMF REFUND POLICY
Applies to all events
- 45 days or More Prior to Race (choice of):
- Deferment to another HMF race, minus $15.00 service fee.
- Refund, minus $15.00 service fee.
- 45 Days or Less Prior to Race:
- Deferment to another HMF race minus $15.00 service fee.
- 7 Days or Less Prior to Race
- NO REFUNDS/ NO TRANSFERS/ NO DEFERMENTS
Note: All deferments expire 12 months after issue.
In addition to the $15 service fee, there may be a charge for any difference in the entry fee on any change to your entry. The difference must be paid when the change is requested to complete the transfer.

August 25, 2010 is the cutoff date to request a refund for an event in the 2010 ING Hartford Marathon.
Deferments will be issued for requests received between
August 26 and October 2, 2010.
You may change races right up to race day provided that the race you’re switching to has not reached its ENTRY LIMITS.
If you SWITCH from the Full Marathon to Half Marathon or the Half Marathon to the 5K, there is no additional fee and the difference will not be refunded. If you switch from half to full marathon or the 5K to the half, there is an additional fee. Please send an email to registration@hartfordmarathon.com to find out the difference that must be paid to move up a division.
After 8 am on September 27, 2010, any changes/corrections/switches must be made at packet pickup at the Solutions/Changes Table. Your race number contains a label with your registration information. Please verify the information and confirm spelling. Corrections will be made before race results are published.
| STEPS TO REQUEST A REFUND OR DEFERMENT |
- If you are requesting to withdraw from an event 45 days or more prior to the race, you are eligible for a refund.
- If you are requesting to withdraw from an event between 45 and 7 days prior to the event, you are eligible for a deferment.
Your request for a refund or deferment must include the following information:
- Your full name
- Name of the race entered
- Reason for refund or deferment
- Daytime phone number (in case clarification is needed)
- Email address
- Mail address (if requesting a refund)
Requests must be sent by email to registration@hartfordmarathon.com
Each person requesting a refund/ deferment/ withdrawal will receive a reply email confirming the status of their transaction (providing the email address received is valid). During race season, please allow 3-weeks for your request to be processed.

- You must complete a paper application (click here to download a copy)
- You must attach a copy of the email confirming your deferment
- Calculate the entry fee due (current entry fee less deferment amount) and include a check or credit card number for any difference due to HMF
