Many of Hartford's streets will be closed at 7:30 a.m. on the morning of the race. The following maps can help you navigate the road closures. All maps are being updated for 2008.
Volunteers: If you are planning to arrive after 7:00 a.m.
Spectators: Arrival after 7:00 a.m.
General Public: Access to downtown Hartford during the marathon

All streets directly affected by the annual running of the ING Hartford Marathon in Hartford, East Hartford, and South Windsor are closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Affected roads may be impacted between 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Road closures will be staggered. Roads will reopen after runners have exited each portion of the course.
Travel on side streets will not be affected, however, drivers should be aware that delays will occur at crossing streets affected by the marathon. No parking will be permitted on main thoroughfares of the course.

5K RUNNERS
If you plan to leave downtown Hartford before 11 a.m., you must park in the following locations in order to get out of the area:
- State of Connecticut parking lot at 165 Capitol Ave. - exit east to Hudson Street to the Conlin Whitehead Hywy.
- Surface lots or garages near the Hartford Civic Center - you will be able to access I-84 east or west or travel west on city streets.
All other areas will be closed for the marathon & half marathon.

Spectators must stay clear of the course and off the roads to avoid interfering with the runners. |

Watch your children at all times. There will be thousands of participants and spectators at the events. |

Bikers should stay well off the course and watch for spectators as much as for runners. |

No vehicles of any kind are allowed on the course. The course can be crossed only at designated intersections. |

Hold animals on a short leash. Keep them away from runners and be considerate of others. |

Help keep the course beautiful by not littering. Respect the property of others while spectating. |
