DUATHLON

DESCRIPTION

  • The transition area is located at Glastonbury High School.
  • The start is in front of the school on Hubbard Street, Glastonbury, CT.
  • The finish is located a short walk away at the Hubbard Green.

Both runs follow similar courses, flat, double loop in neighborhoods surrounding the Hubbard Green. You will run on well paved, wide roads in an area that doesn’t see much traffic on an early Sunday morning. The first run measures 3.1 miles, the second 3.3 miles.

Bike course is a 26k loop of rolling hills through the apple orchard country of Glastonbury. Long straight-aways, a couple of steady climbs, and a few quick turns makes this early season course a good test of endurance. Seasoned athletes will find the course fast and exhilarating while beginners will enjoy the challenge of the ride yet be very comfortable with the wide shoulders and manageable distance.
