In 1994, a small group of runners started a legacy in Hartford when they committed to staging the inaugural Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon. Over the next 25 years, more than 194,370 finishers have collectively run 2,392,415 miles on the streets of Hartford, East Hartford, South Windsor and West Hartford.

Through the echoes of their footsteps, the marathon has emerged as more than a 26.2-mile footrace. It is a powerful story of how a few dedicated citizens and a simple road race can unite and energize a community. We hope you will join us on October 13, 2018 to celebrate the achievements of our runners and the history of our race.

The Runners Honor Roll is a mobile tribute that will travel the region to build excitement for the 25th running of the Hartford Marathon. The colorfully wrapped vehicle will include all the names of 194,370 participants who have crossed the magnificent finish line in Hartford since 1994.

Runners Honor Roll will visit races, festivals and community events throughout Connecticut from mid- July through race day, October 13th and encourage people to find their name, relive the glory of their finish and receive a Silver Running cowbell, Dunkin Donuts gift cards or Dick’s Sporting Goods gift certificates.
