Registration for any Hartford Marathon Foundation (HMF) event is non-refundable. However, if registered for an event and unable to participate, registrants may defer entry for credit to a future event (deferment must be made no later than 14 days before race date) or transfer the registration directly to another runner.

HMF virtual events give participants the flexibility to participate when and where it is convenient. As such, there are no refunds and no deferments for virtual events. For complete details on HMF deferments/transfers and all policies, click here.

Note – due to the limited capacity for the event and additional resources required to execute safety measures, there will be no discounted pricing offered for youth or groups.


All participants must show a Photo ID to pick up race packets (parent/guardian of minors must show ID).

NO Race Day Registration or Bib Pickup

Note: To designate someone to pick up another runner’s race packet, designee must bring a hard copy of this signed waiver/permission slip (included at the bottom of the Running Event Waiver) and a copy of runner’s photo ID. Photocopies or phone pictures of photo ID will be accepted.


One Relay Team member may pick up race packets for the entire group with a signed waiver/permission slip and copy of photo ID for EACH team member (permission slip is included at the bottom of the Running Event Waiver). The team is responsible for distributing bibs to each member and ensuring the runner crossing the finish line is wearing the timing chip.

Relay Team members picking up individual bibs must know in advance the team name and relay leg they are running to ensure ankle timing device is given to the first runner.


There is NO race day registration or packet pickup. For the convenience of runners who cannot make packet pickup, the mail packet option is available during online registration for $18 per packet and must be reserved by September 7, 2020. Registration for HMF FitKids events will be accepted online and on Race day from 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM on the east side of Bushnell Park by the Pump House.


Must be able to complete the Marathon in 6 hours or less.
Must be able to complete the Half Marathon in 3 hours or less.
At least 16 years of age on race day to enter the Marathon.
At least 12 years of age on race day to enter the Half Marathon or Team Relay.

All participants (parent/guardian if minor) must sign a Hartford Marathon Foundation waiver form and show a Photo ID to pick up race packet.
