Healing Meals Community Project

Healing Meals Community Project nourishes with love. We believe that food is medicine, so we prepare and deliver nutrient-rich, organic meals that support improved healing during a 3-month recovery period for individuals and families facing a health crisis. We include handwritten notes with each week’s meals that help clients feel connected to our caring community. Clients report that these notes are as nourishing to the spirit as our meals are to the body.

Our dual mission includes empowering youth as volunteers and leaders. Our Youth Development Committee and our Youth based Volunteer Program engages a diverse group of teens from the Greater Hartford area.

We are the only non-profit in Connecticut that experientially teaches adults and volunteers about nutrient-rich foods from start to finish while helping those in a health crisis heal. Volunteers have the opportunity to plant and harvest produce from our organic garden, prep food, cook, package, and deliver healing meals to those in need. The experience is transformational for all.
