HMF is thrilled to be back in person hosting the great race tradition of the Eversource Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon. Please know participant health and safety remains priority. In addition to the extensive Safety & Security plan in place each year, this year significant resources have been dedicated to develop a COVID-19 Mitigation Plan.

Working closely with public health and medical experts of the Health Advisory Committee and municipal partners, and utilizing the expertise of an internationally accredited crowd scientist, we have made many event modifications for your safety.

PLEASE make sure to read your event email communications and sign up for Emergency Text service through your haku participant account (only used for urgent or priority event updates). We will relay all requirements and any last minute updates to participants through those communications.

Expect the top-notch medical teams as supported by Hartford HealthCare each year and thorough safety and security services of our municipal partners. Many additional public health and safety efforts in place include:

  • Lower race field limits
  • 3 corrals & start wave assignments to space you out and alleviate pinch points on the course
  • Elongated water stations
  • Packaged, to-go food in finish chute individual snack bags
  • Hand sanitizing stations throughout

Masks are mandated by the city of Hartford for indoor spaces, including all packet pick-up activities in the XL Center on October 2, 7 and 8. Masks will also be required within medical tent spaces and post-race stretch support areas.

We strongly recommend mask wearing in the start corrals. A mask drop zone will be provided within a quarter mile for safe disposal.

Continue to check these participant emails for any updates and if you haven’t, sign up for emergency texting.
