The annual spring road race has been moved to the fall to give it the best chance to be as close to its traditional race experience as possible. There’s no predicting exactly what the next several months will bring, we’re doing everything in our power to be prepared and ready to offer an event that lives up to the great Harvard Pilgrim Middletown race experience.
Planning is underway for a limited capacity this year. Registration is now open for the 10 Mile and Legends Run/Walk (approx 3.5 miles); guarantee a spot in the limited field with assurance that your registration investment is protected. Register now and you have until June 1 to request a 75% refund of your registration (less processing fees) if for any reason you decide not to participate in the October 31 event. Those registered early (by February 28) have until June 1 to request 100% refund.
The temporary refund policy gives you a safety net while race plans are developed that enable HMF to keep its non-profit operations viable. Hope for the best with confidence that HMF will be prepared for many iterations of what the future could bring. Please check back for regular updates.
Enjoy Middletown’s country roads, Wesleyan University campus and historic Main Street downtown. Both races loop around Wesleyan campus, while the Legends Run/Walk finishes, the 10-mile takes a loop through Wadsworth State Forest.
All finishers receive a high quality long sleeve technical shirt and a flashy medal.
Safety remains top priority, but there are so many details to be worked out that only time will bring definitive answers on. Expect staggered start waves determined by anticipated finish times. Course limits will need to adjust, everything from parking plans to pre-race prep areas will be overhauled. The packet pick-up process will be assessed in addition to roles of volunteers and opportunities for spectators.
