Effective May 19, 2021, per order of CT Governor Ned Lamont, face masks will not be required at outdoor events in Connecticut. Keeping with state recommendations, runners, volunteers, spectators and staff will not be required to wear masks at any Hartford Marathon Foundation (HMF) event. We encourage those more comfortable wearing masks to continue to do so and urge unvaccinated participants attending HMF Events to wear a face mask for their own safety and for the safety of those who have vulnerable conditions or weakened immune systems.
HMF will continue to maintain safety protocols at all events, including hand washing and sanitizing stations, modified water distribution and spacing of start and finish areas to allow social distance.
New London’s 25 year+ running tradition continues with Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in a 5K and 10K road race for all ages and abilities.
The 5K offers competitive and casual runners a great 3.1 mile race while also welcoming walkers and families with strollers on the relatively flat and scenic course.
The 10K is a double loop with long straightaways, offering a fast course with stunning ocean views along Pequot Avenue.
All participants receive a high quality short sleeve technical shirt. Take part in Summer Stride and the Old Wethersfield 5K or 10K in August and also earn the 2 Hot Challenge medal!
Give Back: Please help give back to the community that has opened their streets for participants. Donations of nonperishable food will be collected on race day through the HMF Can drive to benefit the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Bank, which serves the needy in New London County.
