Come back to swim, bike and run at the beach in 2021! A flat, sprint distance race through scenic shoreline communities of Niantic and East Lyme, the Niantic Bay Triathlon is a great race for beginner or experienced triathletes.

Swim a 1/2 mile in the calm of Niantic Bay without waves or strong currents. Bike a 12-mile loop through East Lyme with water views and long straightaways along flat, shaded roads. Run 3.2 miles along the oceanfront area lined with cheering spectators before a spectacular beach finish.

Triathlon relay teams of two or three athletes are welcome. Niantic Bay Triathlon also offers an Aquabike race option.

All participants receive a custom short sleeve tech shirt, an awesome finisher’s medal and a post-race party to spread out along McCook Beach Park. More details to come!

Effective May 19, 2021, per order of CT Governor Ned Lamont, face masks will not be required at outdoor events in Connecticut. Keeping with state recommendations, runners, volunteers, spectators and staff will not be required to wear masks at any Hartford Marathon Foundation (HMF) event. We encourage those more comfortable wearing masks to continue to do so and urge unvaccinated participants attending HMF Events to wear a face mask for their own safety and for the safety of those who have vulnerable conditions or weakened immune systems.

HMF will continue to maintain safety protocols at all events, including hand washing and sanitizing stations, modified water distribution and spacing of start and finish areas to allow social distance.

SAFETY MEASURES

The Hartford Marathon Foundation has always prioritized safety and security at events, and in these challenging conditions, no detail will be more important.
