COACHING

Running coaches aren’t just for experienced runners. A skilled coach will challenge you and guide you to achieve your goals. A coach will design a training plan for your specific fitness level, work with you to optimize your performance and make sure your injury risk is minimized.

  • Look for a coach that has certification and training.
  • Decide if you want a coach that will work with you one-on-one, in a group or online.
  • Ask fellow runners for references.
  • Interview potential coaches before making a final decision.

Before choosing a coach:

  • Know your running goals
  • Know yourself – what motivates you and gets you out the door to run?
  • How much money can you spend a month on coaching?
  • How much time can you spend on training?

David’s coaching philosophy:

I want to help runners achieve their goals, whether that be run a BQ, finish a marathon or become fitter for some sport that involves running. I don’t have ‘cookie cutter” training plans; each one is based on the athlete’s current ability and goals, and the time available to train.  I try to be as responsive to my on-line athletes as if I were at the end of their run ready to give them personal feedback.
