Once you have decided on a running goal, a training plan will keep you on schedule and help you achieve success. A training plan is a day-by-day and week-by-week set of incremental steps that will lead you from where you are now to where you want to be. Many plans are available and are designed for a runner’s fitness level, available training time and running goals.
TRAINING PLANS
Things to Think About:
- Choose the best schedule for your current level of fitness, available training time and running goals.
- Can’t do your long runs on a Saturday? Adjust the schedule to fit your life.
- Want to run a different race? Count back from race day and adjust the schedule accordingly.
- Miss a run? It’s OK to skip an occasional day, but following the schedule is the best way to reach your goals.
