TRAINING PROGRAMS

Group training programs provide structure and guidance to help you meet your running goals. Most programs include at least one group meeting each week and provide guidance for training runs on your own between meetings. Look for a group that best fits your running experience, goals and schedule.

NO BOUNDARIES – 5K Training Program

Fleet Feet, West Hartford, CT

This 5k training program is geared towards beginners as we encourage walk/run intervals (if you like to do all-run, that’s fine too). Energetic coaches will join you during the run and cheer you on every step of the way. At the end of the 10-weeks, you’ll be able to run or run/walk a 5K race feeling healthy, happy, and strong!

Program Start: Saturday, April 1, 2023
Program Schedule: Group Runs Each Week – Saturdays @ 9 am for 10 weeks
Goal Race: UConn Health 5K on June 3 or Celebrate West Hartford 5K on June 11

NEXT STEPS – 10K Training Program

Fleet Feet, West Hartford, CT

This 10K training program is designed to further runners towards their fitness and running goals beyond the 5K distance. It will include an education on training techniques and tools in order to further enjoy running and improve your performance.

Program Start: Saturday, April 1, 2023
Program Schedule: Coached Group Runs Each Week – Saturdays at 9 AM for 10 weeks at the store. Optional group runs on Tuesday evenings at 7pm for Strength and Speed workouts and Wednesday evenings at 6:15pm at our CommUNITY Runs.
Goal Race: UConn Health 10K on June 3

HALF MARATHON TRAINING PROGRAM

Fleet Feet, West Hartford, CT

This 13-week program is open to first-time and repeat half marathoners who have been running fairly consistently during the winter/early spring as the program miles ramp up quickly. Must be able to maintain a 12:00/mile pace (run/walk intervals are OK!).

Program Start: Saturday, March 11, 2023
Program Schedule: Saturday mornings at 8:00 AM for 13 weeks at the store.
Goal Race: UConn Health Half Marathon on June 3

YOUTH PROGRAMS

ZOOMERANG KIDS RUNNING PROGRAM AT FLEET FEET, WEST HARTFORD

This non-competitive “open track” program is designed for kids aged 3-10. It gives them the opportunity to experience running in a fun, friendly atmosphere. It’s a great opportunity for kids to run safely, correctly using good form, make friends and get stronger/build endurance so they can perform better in other sports. Our goal is to empower kids to accomplish their goals and instill in them a lifelong love of running.

GLASTONBURY RIVER RUNNERS – RISING STARS

GRR offers two 9 week training programs each year to encourage youth ages 4 to 13 to get up and move. Let us help your child reach the goal of completing a 5K (3.1 miles) and have a great time doing it. Through this program, we are here to offer your child support, motivation and fun along the way!

GIRLS ON THE RUN – GREATER HARTFORD

Girls on the Run Greater Hartford serves Central, Southern and Western Connecticut, including: Hartford, Tolland, Litchfield, New Haven and Fairfield. All programming is led by caring and qualified coaches, providing a one-of-a-kind opportunity for all girls, including girls with disabilities, to develop self-confidence, have fun with friends, and learn life skills they can use now and as they grow.
