Group training programs provide structure and guidance to help you meet your running goals. Most programs include at least one group meeting each week and provide guidance for training runs on your own between meetings. Look for a group that best fits your running experience, goals and schedule.
TRAINING PROGRAMS
MARATHON TRAINING PROGRAM
Want to conquer the marathon distance but need guidance, company and motivation? This 16 week program includes a proven training plan led by RRCA-certified coaches who will inspire, motivate, share their knowledge and distance running secrets. It is open to first-time and repeat marathoners. It is not appropriate for new runners who do not have a solid training base. You should be able to run 10 miles comfortably.
Program Start: Sunday, July 7 at 6:30 AM. Meet at Fleet Feet, 1003 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, CT 06107. Please park on the street. Parking is free on Sundays in West Hartford.
Program Schedule: 16 week training program meets in-person once a week on Sunday mornings. Participants are encouraged (and welcome!) to join the Wednesday evening commUNITY runs at 6:15 PM.
Goal Race: The Eversource Hartford Marathon on October 19.
HALF MARATHON TRAINING PROGRAM
Whether you want to toe the line for 13.1 for the first time, set a new PB for the distance, or just spend those miles having fun and making friends, this program is for you. Must be able to maintain a 12:00/mile pace (run/walk intervals are OK!).

NO BOUNDARIES 5K TRAINING PROGRAM
Come see how Running Changes Everything! This 5K training program is geared towards beginners as we encourage walk/run intervals (if you like to do all-run, that’s fine too). Energetic coaches will join you during the run and cheer you on every step of the way.

YOUTH PROGRAMS
ZOOMERANG KIDS RUNNING PROGRAM AT FLEET FEET, WEST HARTFORD
This non-competitive “open track” program is designed for kids aged 3-10. It gives them the opportunity to experience running in a fun, friendly atmosphere. It’s a great opportunity for kids to run safely, correctly using good form, make friends and get stronger/build endurance so they can perform better in other sports. Our goal is to empower kids to accomplish their goals and instill in them a lifelong love of running.
GLASTONBURY RIVER RUNNERS – RISING STARS
GRR offers two 9 week training programs each year to encourage youth ages 4 to 13 to get up and move. Let us help your child reach the goal of completing a 5K (3.1 miles) and have a great time doing it. Through this program, we are here to offer your child support, motivation and fun along the way!
GIRLS ON THE RUN – GREATER CONNECTICUT
Girls on the Run Greater Connecticut serves Central, Southern and Western Connecticut, including: Hartford, Tolland, Litchfield, New Haven and Fairfield. All programming is led by caring and qualified coaches, providing a one-of-a-kind opportunity for all girls, including girls with disabilities, to develop self-confidence, have fun with friends, and learn life skills they can use now and as they grow.
