10 days, between 10 beaches, covering 100 miles! Make it an endless runner summer as a team or solo. The virtual beach run challenge starts from Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, CT, with Connecticut beach destinations along the way to finish 100 miles at Misquamicut State Beach in Westerly, RI.

DETAILS

How many miles, beach to beach, can you reach during this 10 day virtual challenge? Register for the Surftown 100 Challenge, presented by Westerly Hospital, and run or walk between Friday, September 4, and Sunday, September 13. Individual mileage will be tracked live and teams’ cumulative miles will be posted at the conclusion of the challenge.

Registration fee is $45 per person.

* Mileage tracking will not turn off at 100 miles – overall awards will be distributed to the top three male and female individuals who log the most total miles over the ten day challenge.

SOLO or TEAM

Whether you are part of a team or taking on the challenge solo, all participants can upload their runs to view their progress on the live leaderboard. Team total mileage will be updated on September 8, September 11 and September 14.

Teams

  • There is no limit to the number of participants on each team
  • When registering join an existing team or create your own:
    • If you would like to participate with a team, then select “YES”. You will have two options to choose from.
      • Join Team – Here you can search for and join a team that has already been created.
      • Create New Team – If you decide to create a new team, you will be the captain of that team. To create a new team simply type in a team name and select if you want the team to be open to the public or a private team. (If you select private team, you will be provided with a personalized team link for registration that can be shared).
  • Upload your mileage in your haku participant account throughout the challenge

SWAG

Each participant will receive the custom Surftown 100 Challenge Hoodie (size chart) and Finisher’s Medal. Curbside swag pick-up options are available September 3 in Glastonbury, September 8 in Niantic and September 9 in Mystic. Please follow all directional signage and maintain appropriate social distance. Everyone who picks up will get a free pair of signature HMF flip flops, those who don’t pick up will have swag mailed after the Challenge ends.

HANG 10 KIDS CHALLENGE

Kids are invited to take part in the Hang 10 Kids Challenge! Kids are encouraged to get out and just run each of the 10 days of the challenge (no specific distance per day required). How many days can they make it – can they Hang 10?

The Hang 10 Kids Challenge is FREE. Virtual race benefits include:
