WE RUN CT TOOLKIT

To help you along the We Run CT journey, the following Toolkit can assist with getting started, tracking activities, and monitoring progress toward goals.

GETTING STARTED

STEP 1: REGISTER
Click the “REGISTER NOW” button above and complete the registration process through haku to join We Run CT.

STEP 2: CREATE A CITYSTRIDES ACCOUNT
Once registered, click the We Run CT CityStrides link in your confirmation email/message to become a member of CityStrides (For privacy settings and how they impact your challenge, click here). Connect a compatible device (see Activity Tracking for more details). Select Initial Setup preferences and hit “Let’s Do This” to continue.

STEP 3: CONNECT TO WE RUN CT
Enter the unique access code from your Hartford Marathon Foundation registration confirmation email/message to complete the process of connecting to the We Run CT CityStrides tracker.

STEP 4: GET AFTER IT!
CityStrides technology is available year round, but only your activities recorded during the week-long window will feed into the Challenge. To make the most of the week and enhance your experience, don’t forget to utilize the awesome CityStrides Supporter Features available to you just for this limited time!

ACTIVITY TRACKING

Record a run and/or walk activity on your CityStrides account between 12:00 AM on Monday, June 2 and 11:59 PM on Sunday, June 8, using one of the two following options:

  • Option 1 – Sync a compatible wearable device with your CityStrides account prior to your first activity. Once synced, activities will be uploaded automatically to CityStrides (and into We Run CT).
    • Compatible with: Garmin / Coros / Suunto
  • Option 2 – Don’t have a wearable device? No problem! Download one of the following free fitness trackers on your smartphone, then sync this account to your CityStrides account prior to your first activity. Once synced, record your activities on the app, and they will automatically upload to CityStrides (and into We Run CT).
    • Compatible with: Strava / MapMyFitness / Runkeeper

Apple Watch User? Here’s a Pro Tip: Unfortunately, Apple Fitness/Watch is not directly compatible with CityStrides, however each of the fitness trackers listed above do. Simply create an account using one of these platforms and connect your Apple Watch to use its functionality when tracking your run/walk. Then, when you connect that tracker to your CityStrides account, you’ll be able to use your Apple Watch to track your activity!

Everytime you upload a run or walk activity to your connected GPS tracking device during We Run CT, it will automatically* update your individual progress, as well as the community progress, and be reflected on the We Run CT CityStrides Dashboard!

* Depending on your tracking device, activity syncing may vary, which may impact the time it takes to show up in your CityStrides account, and then in turn on We Run CT. For more details on syncing, consult the Leaderboard FAQs. If your activity takes longer than 24 hours to show, please contact CityStrides.
