This 10 mile point-to-point race runs in peak fall foliage season from Amherst to Northampton. Starting in the heart of the UMass Amherst campus with a run through downtown, the bulk of the race is along the scenic Norwottuck Trail, a paved bike trail with generous net downhill elevation and panoramic views of the Holyoke Range and the Connecticut River Valley.

Take it on solo or as part of a 2-person relay, with the exchange at the 5 mile point.

A highlight of the 10 mile race course is crossing the CT River on the Northampton Lattice Truss Bridge before running through downtown Northampton to finish by Union Station and celebrate at The Deck Bar post-race.

Not up for 10 Miles, no problem! Get in on the action by taking part in the NoHo 5K! This relatively flat lollipop course starts and finishes in downtown Northampton, and is a great option for runners and walkers alike.

Participants in the 10 Mile (individuals & 2-person relay) will earn a custom finisher medal and receive a high quality long sleeve technical shirt. 5K participants will receive a high quality short sleeve technical shirt. All participants will enjoy an awesome post-race party featuring delicious food and ice cold beer! Plus, register by September 7, 2025, and receive a personalized race bib with your name!

NEW for 2025! Let the HMF Sampler be a great excuse to set goals and keep moving from late summer through the fall, with an extra commemorative medal to celebrate the effort. Pick and choose distance of choice from three signature events that provide flexibility – either vary distance targets to align with training, set same-distance benchmarks (5K), or just try something new and fun with friends! The HMF Sampler starts with the Old Wethersfield 5K or 10K in August, then joins the premier annual tradition at the Eversource Hartford Marathon, Half Marathon, Charity 5K or Team 26.2 Relay in October, and wraps up in November with the NoHo 5K/Western Mass 10, presented by Trinity Health Of New England Orthopedics.
