Hartford Marathon Foundation, Inc. is a not for profit organization whose mission is to promote healthy living through fitness and physical activity for people of all ages, abilities, ethnicities, gender identities, orientations and experience levels, and to use HMF events to support charity, sustainability, tourism and economic growth in communities.

The Hartford Marathon Foundation supports and enables charity fundraising efforts for individuals and groups throughout the calendar of events. In addition, HMF’s flagship Eversource Hartford Marathon annual event, engaging more than 56,000 people in 2024, supports an Official Charity program and individual race participant fundraising efforts contributing more than $9.5 million in donations. LEARN MORE
Outside of raising funds, participants in many HMF Events have the opportunity to donate non-perishable foods to the HMF Can initiative on race day. HMF Can is supported by Stop & Shop to help alleviate food insecurity in communities.

HMF greatly expanded its platform of youth running programs in 2022 under the umbrella of the Susie Beris, MD Youth Running Program. With a mission to build lifelong runners, the expanded program encompasses the existing HMF FitKids offerings with additional resources and opportunities in Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
