Join this festive race for a great cause – to benefit Reliance Health, Inc., a non-profit community mental health center serving individuals across Eastern CT. The race is virtual this year giving participants four days to run or walk anywhere they choose to complete the 5K. A fun family event to get moving and active during the holiday weekend! All 5K participants will receive a high-quality long sleeve technical shirt. And the first 250 registrants will receive a race medal.

To celebrate Reliance Health’s 45th Anniversary, Kids are encouraged to get active for 45 minutes during the challenge, highlighting the connection between physical activity and mental wellness. All kids registered will earn a medal.

Register for the Norwich Winterfest 5K ! Run or walk anytime during the weekend of Thursday, November 25 through Sunday, November 28.

Registration fee for the 5K race is $25 per person. Race cap 250 registrants.

*The 2021 Norwich Winterfest 5K is not owned by the Hartford Marathon Foundation (HMF), therefore HMF deferment codes are not valid for use during the registration process.

This event gives participants the flexibility to participate when and where it is convenient. As such, there are no refunds and no deferments for virtual events.


Participants are also encouraged to create and use their own fundraising account! Using your own fundraising account is easy and fun to do! Once you’ve registered, just log into your haku participant account, and then navigate to your fundraising account to get started!


Open to children 12 and under. Kids are encouraged to get active for 45 minutes, in celebration of Reliance Health’s 45th anniversary!

All registered 5K participants receive a long sleeve race technical shirt (limited to first 100) and custom finisher medal, Kids Fun Run participants receive a finisher medal. Participants can pick up swag at the curbside location listed below for themselves, teammates or others. Those that don’t pick up will be mailed swag after the event.

What is a virtual race?

A virtual race is an alternative race experience that allows runners the freedom and flexibility to take part in a race from wherever they’d like. Simply register online, run or walk the race distance, then upload your finish time to compare it to others.

When do I participate and how does the race get timed?

You must run or walk your race between 12:00 AM on Thursday, November 25th and 11:59 PM on Sunday, November 29th.

All race options will be timed and measured using your own timing device.

Where do I run?

Anywhere you want! Start right at your front door, jump on a treadmill, head to your favorite bike trail, or create and explore a special new route to commemorate this year’s race. Just be safe, adhere to social distancing recommendations, and follow all public safety directives.
